We are all Satoshi: the metal surface reflects the viewers.
The creator of Bitcoin is anonymous, but remembered by thousands of people.
Satoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous creator of Bitcoin, now has a public statue in tribute to his contributions, unveiled today, August 16, in the city of Budapest, Hungary.
from public life in April 2011, which is one of the great mysteries of cryptocurrency history.
“The goal of the statue is to honor Satoshi Nakamoto, whose work we believe deserves to be remembered,” the statue project organization states on its website
The statue’s face is made of bronze, which due to its reflective surface allows viewers to see their faces on the sculpture, which would express that “We are all Satoshi”.

The monument is located in Graphisoft Park
, a business park with spacious green areas and various technology companies, north of Budapest.
Today at noon a crowd of Bitcoin enthusiasts and onlookers surrounded the bust of Satoshi Nakamoto in Budapest. In the same park is also located a statue dedicated to Steve Jobs, founder of Apple, unveiled in 2011.

Journalist Andras Györfi, who leads a local cryptocurrency media outlet, is the mind behind the idea of the statue, we reported on CryptoNews
in May 2021, when plans to erect the statue first became known.
“It represents Satoshi.
course, we don’t know what he looked like, but this statue has a stylized face made of bronze and reflective aluminum… if you go towards the statue, look at his face and you will see your own face,” Gyorfi told CGTN media
during the unveiling. <img width=”700″ height=”465″ src=”https://yellowrocketagency.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/estatua-satoshi..png” alt=” /> Participants unveil the Satoshi Nakamoto statue in Budapest this morning. Source: Attila Kisbendek /AFP.
would never be tied to one person, “and that it can stand as a decentralized system where no one group or person is in control,” he said.
The creation of the Satoshi Nakamoto statue was funded by Hungarian cryptocurrency companies, and backed by members of that community, over the past 6 months. The sculptors are Tamas Gilly and Reka Gergely.
This was not the only tribute to Satoshi Nakamoto, although it is the first public statue worldwide. As CryptoNews reported, last April 2021, the House of Representatives of the state of Louisiana, in the U.S., recognized the contributions in economics left by the creator of Bitcoin.
