From EGLD to music – The “Untold” music festival, which welcomed hundreds of thousands of people at its last edition, will accept payments in eGold (EGLD). Its crypto partner Elrond also plans to tokenize the event’s highlights through NFTs.
The Untold festival with Elrond’s rhythm
On August 17, Elrond announced a partnership with mega electronic music festival Untold to accept eGold payments for ticket purchases. The ticket price starts at 159 euros, or about 1.37 EGLD.
The 2021 edition of Untold will be held in Romania, from September 9 to 12, 2021. The festival had already attracted more than 370,000 people from 120 different countries at its last edition in 2019.
According to the organizers, the event will be able to accommodate an unlimited number of participants in 2021, despite the ongoing pandemic. The world’s top DJs (including David Guetta, Martin Garrix and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike), international stars (such as Sam Feldt, Tyga, Afrojack and The Script) as well as many bands and artists will be coming to set the stage on fire.
Elrond pulls out all the stops
Untold attendees will be able to meet Elrond Network CEO Beniamin Mincu and his team who will familiarize them with the blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Beginning cryptophiles will be able to receive their first eGold as well as Elrond’s Maiar digital wallet.
The partnership between Elrond and Untold does not stop at the stage of EGLD payment methods. NFTs will capture the best moments of the festival and will be available on Maiar’s NFT markets at a later date.
Beniamin Mincu spoke of a long-term collaboration between his company and the Untold festival:
“This year we are engaging in ticketing in EGLD and on NFTs. We look forward to exploring other use cases in subsequent editions, such as a festival economy powered by semi-fungible tokens issued on the Elrond network or artists dropping NFTs on stage, so that all their Maiar fans can engage in a unique way.”
Elrond is writing some notes on the scores of mass cryptocurrency adoption, through this partnership with a renowned music festival. The eGold will delight the wallets of attendees who came to hear the works of famous artists. Bitcoin (BTC) may not be in Romania this time around, but it has already found a place of prominence in a school ofe Scottish music.
