Bitcoin enters Twitter through the back door of tips

The Bitcoin-Twitter alliance is getting stronger – We were talking about it very seriously at the end of July, announcing that the future of Twitter would be written with Bitcoin (BTC) – and vice versa

. It’s now a done deal, as Twitter is now adding the ability to tip directly using BTC.

Bitcoin and Twitter – Jack Dorsey goes all the way

Back in July, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey hinted that bitcoin would be coming to Tip Jar, a service for tipping on Twitter. He added that it could also be used for its other products, including Super Follows.

Currently, Twitter is in the middle of testing this new service giving the ability to tip using BTC. According to MacRumors

, Twitter’s beta version actually indicates that this option is already being tested, while mobile developer Alessandro Paluzzi leaked an image of what it will look like. <img width=”587″ height=”391″ src=”//’%20viewBox=’0%200%20587%20391’%3E%3C/svg%3E” alt=’Publication by Alessandro Paluzzi showing off the interface of Twitter’s tipping service” /><img width=”587″ height=”391″ src=”” alt=’Publication by Alessandro Paluzzi showcasing Twitter’s tip service interface” />Publication by Alessandro Paluzzi – Source: <a href=”″ target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>Twitter</a> <p>According to reports, the tip feature will use the Lightning Network, which has lower transaction fees,to make bitcoin payments. It will support both custodial and non-custodial wallets. As a reminder, in a custodial wallet, a platform holds the private key, unlike the non-custodial wallet, where we own it.</p> <p>Based on the leaked image, Twitter is clearly working closely with Bitcoin Lightning App Strike and will use the service to generate bitcoin bills. As a result,Twitter users will definitely need a Strike account to complete the transactions.</p> <p>This is no surprise to anyone. Jack Dorsey is known as one of Bitcoin’s earliest advocates, repeatedly claiming that it was on the verge of being the internet’s single currency since at least 2018. Now we’re getting to the stage where actions meet promises. <a href=”” target=”_self” rel=”noopener”>Will Twitter soon be decentralized Bitcoin-style?</a></p> <p><em>While you’re waiting to get bitcoin back from Twitter, don’t miss the ascendex airdrop!
